The Imperial Tea Court restaurant in the Ferry Building has been holding the San Francisco Tea Festival each year. And I didn’t want to miss out this special Spring event - May 2nd & 3rd. As a tea fan, I attended the 1st day - 5/2/26. I enjoyed it so much! The curated group of vendors from China/Japan/Taiwan/Nepal/India/Europe and USA at this event is always interesting and I usually find a new tea or two. Asian American purveyors of tea, local pastry treats, tea infused chocolate and tea paraphernalia fill out the show. Attendees got to sample from all vendors. Then, for those teas I liked, I got to purchase the teas! The best: an outstanding Indonesian Ginger tea from a company called NUSA which was started by a young Asian American young man who shifted careers to start his own tea business! Amazing! I also attended a lecture about Kore tea but there was a later lecture on how to cook with tea - the room was packed…note to myself: arrive early to the lecture room for the next tea lecture of interest! As an early bird attendee, I received a white tote bag filled with a variety of tea samples and the porcelain sampling teacup cup! What a fun day!

we shared a Beijing Braise pork belly and Dragon Well Dumplings , and both were incredibly delicious 😋 pork belly is usually hit or miss for me but it melted in my mouth. I was so excited to see the large selection of tea they had with detailed descriptions and bought two types to try. The gaiwan teacups are a good price too, which is nice considering the area can be a bit pricey towards tourists. The Hong Kong milk tea was delicious and sweet how I like it! will be stopping by every time I take the ferry now! p.s. I suggest putting some tea pets out to sell too ! I bet customers would love them!

I got the pork BBQ steam bun to go. They had to reheat the buns as they were closing. The steam buns and its fillings were dry.

We got a vegetarian dim sum sampler (5 tofu/purple rice dim sums, one spring roll and two steamed buns) for takeout. The staff at the front was super accommodating by making it all vegetarian and made it ready in some minutes. We were running short of time, otherwise we would have dined in. It seemed a good place for dining in or takeout. Good that they have vegetarian options in the menu since there are only a few restaurants in the ferry building serving dishes suitable for 100% vegetarian diet.
